Family Room Put Together

After spring cleaning the family room and shampooing the carpets, I put it all back together.  I really tried a different furniture arrangement, but nothing worked.  So this room basically went back just the way it was.

This is the view from the kitchen island.  This shows how open the familyroom and breakfast area are to the kitchen.  This is where we spend 90% of our time.

The breakfast area.

The table has 4 leaves and can be extended to seat 12 and this is where we have our big family dinners.  I hate having half of the people in the dining room and half here, so I chose to put this table here since there is room to expand it to accommodate the whole family.

I decided to use a table runner that matches the pillows in the familyroom, so I changed out the ribbon to a camel colored one.

The buffet is still used as my work area.  Love being where everything is happening.

I tried moving the leather chairs around, but this is the best arrangement for conversation and also for viewing the tv that is across from the couch.

The coffee table got a tiny bit of a different vignette.  This piece is used so often for all the extra seating that we need.  Those little rush benches pull out and 4 extra seats in one second.  Gotta love that.

A simple vignette with the ivy, scale, some decor books and that’s it.  Plenty of room left for snacks and something to drink.

I love my faux fruit, so I thought the scale was a good place to display some.  I previously had some twig and rope orbs in the trays, but I really like the color the fruit adds.

So, windows washed, walls wiped down, drapes vacuumed, carpet shampooed and all the furniture dusted and polished.  It always feels so good to have everything all spiffy.
