Well, did you understand all of that. I know we are all trying to find ways to decorate and make our homes personal and special, and watch the budget at the same time. I am a huge GW, DT and Thrift shopper. I always see picture frames and find that most people just walk right past them. For anywhere from 25 cents to $5, you can pick up some fabulous accessories and totally transform some of your decor.
Here I have a frame that I found at a yard sale for $2 with the glass missing, since it is a 5 x 7 I took the glass out of another frame and put it in this one and then added a picture that I downloaded off the internet. Now I have a fabulous cow painting that looks really expensive. The little frame on the bottom shelf came from the DT. (Dollar Tree)
Again showing how pictures can enhance a theme you are displaying in a vignette.
Since I am displaying a vintage riding hat and a figurine of a rider, the picture ties it all together and enhances the hunt theme I am going for. This frame is a 1/2 price frame from Home Goods that cost me $4.50.
The bottom shelf of the bookcase has another frame showing a group of hunting dogs. This is a DT frame for $1 and a pic that I printed off the internet. Not only do the pictures add interest to the look of the bookshelves, but they do help tell a story.
This frame came from Hobby Lobby and was a 50% off frame that cost me $4.50 (originally $9.99). This has a picture of one of my grandsons. I also really like to display them on easels. You can find these everywhere. I got this one from Home Goods for $6.99. Both together make quite a statement for around $12. These easels also display books, dishes and any number of things and give what ever you put on it importance. That always makes everything look more expensive.
This frame is a plastic frame I found at GW for 99cents. I sprayed it gold and then antiqued it with dark stain. Looks really expensive and my little lambs that I printed off the internet look fabulous.
Looks a lot more expensive than 99 cents.
I am using a few more on the end table by my chair. I love to be able to see my family. Different styles and sizes work great to create a nice vignette.
The oval one was a yard sale find for 50 cents, the small square is the same DT one, and the larger one is from HL at 1/2 off again. All three cost me less than $6 and I have tons of pics that I can always use. Grandchildren, and the larger one is of my dad and I on his 90th Birthday. He’s been gone for 13 years and I miss him so much. We are having dinner at his favorite restaurant. Great memories and so fun to see the picture.
This is another one that I found that looks very antique and is a perfect match to the vase and vignette that I am using in the master bath.
I love this style and it looks very old. 1/2 price at HL for $4.99
This is one that I have had for a very long time. I really don’t remember, but I think it came from GW or a thrift store. It has a really cute Bunny pic that I printed off the internet. I think it looks so expensive and so amazing.
So, if you’re looking for a way to find some different accessories, be sure to take a look at all those frames you see and don’t forget, they can be revamped with a little paint to become real treasures. Also the nice thing is they come in so many different styles that you will always find something to go with your decor.
