I don’t have a fireplace, so this is kind of like my mantel that I change around a lot. I thought it needed a few changes for the summer months,
This is a huge shelf, it is 18″ tall, so it is definitely a focal point. The only problem is the shelf part is only 4″ deep, so I am really limited as to what I can put up there, plus there’s the ceiling, so it can’t be too tall.
This has been the look for quite a while, so time to switch out a couple of things.
Some things stayed, but I did add a little more color.
The orange rooster cache pot added a little cheerfulness to this end. The duck tureen stayed. It is small enough to fit on the shelf and I love it.
A couple of green birds replaced a couple of items that were previously there. Just looks more summer to me. The fruit, pedestal roo and artichoke stayed. I love the character they add.
Now everyone needs an orange rooster and I think mine is just way too cute.
That’s it, just a few different items and it does change the look.
I love the addition of the orange, it ties in with the dried hydrangeas in the basket and the center of the sunflowers on the table. Bright and cheery for summer.
So, are you still making a few changes for the summer months?
