Kelly at Kelly’s Korner is continuing her Show Us You Life series with Show Us Window Treatments.
Window treatments can totally make the room. I love a pretty drape and I also like to mix fabrics, so when I made the living room drapes, of course it involved mixing two different fabrics and a little trim. The walls and carpet are a soft beige with just the hint of a carmel undertone. I wanted something to frame the windows, add interest, but not be the dominate decorative feature in the room, so I chose two different fabrics, both with tones of beige and carmel.
Love them, and I think they help to ground the room and offer just enough interest without stealing the show.
When we first moved in, I had a plaid sofa that I knew I was going to replace, so I just made simple panels out of a small stripe fabric and tied them back. I needed to figure out the furniture before I did anything decorative to the drapes.
Since I love the look of a contrasting fabric at the top of drapes, a coordinating plaid to the stripe panels is what I decided to do to change the look and update the room.
The room immediately looked brighter and the ceiling seemed taller. Love the simple panels, always a classic.
