Is Aqua Dead

I love all of the autumn colors and the oranges, yellows and greens are fabulous for summer, but I am in the mood for a new color scheme.  I am not a blue person (except I like to wear it), but I have fallen in love with some of the more green aqua colors.  Seems like I get hooked on a color just as it winds down in popularity.  Is Aqua Dead?

I never look at the $40 to $50 yd. fabric, however I found two that just stole my heart, so I bought 1/2 yd. of each for some pillows.  For now I think I will try these in the living room, but they actually match my master bedroom perfectly.

I love that my room is so neutral that you can put just about any color in the world in here and it looks fine.  This is a really cool soft look for a change.

I found a cotton fabric for the back of the pillows that matches the aqua perfectly, so I was able to get two pillows out of each 1/2 yd.  Great way to stretch your dollars when using really expensive fabric, just use it for the pillow fronts.  I also had a remnant piece of gold fabric that matched the gold ribbon on the fabric and used that for the cording.  Saved some money and used up my remnants.

I had a small piece of this stripe fabric left from other projects,  so I made a table topper for the table.   I thought I needed something a little lighter and the gold stripe tied in with the gold ribbon on the pillows.

The gimp trim and tassels were also in my stash, so I managed to create something with a little character and spent zero dollars.  The tassels were a last minute thought, but I really like them.

Just a small aqua hydrangea in this arrangement and it ties in with the aqua in the picture frame and the easel.

I replaced the white candles with two aqua ones and done.

There is aqua in the painting in the dining area, so that ties it together also.

Again just one more hydrangea in this bouquet and it all works.

These are the colors you always see me use.  Definitely my favorite, but a change is fun. and especially if it’s just the cost of a couple of pillow covers.

It always amazes me how some simple changes can change the entire feel of the room, and for $50.   Love it.
