My Favorite Painted Furniture

I love to join all the fun parties going on in blogland, and especially ones that let us show off our handy work.
Carmel at Our Fifth House is joining a group of ladies to host some great parties for February.  The first one is a Paint It Challenge.  This is where we get to show off all our paint and refinishing projects.

If you follow my blog then you saw my master bedroom get a complete makeover this past fall.  It went from  make-do to love it.  You can see the finished room here.  It all started with finding the headboard .

The headboard had great lines and wonderful fabric, but the orangey colored wood just really had to go.  At a price of $75 for a king size, it had real potential and I knew it would be such a focal point all redone.

Now I was on the hunt for a dresser and night stand.  I found the perfect piece at Goodwill, just needed a little refinishing.  Great lines and fantastic storage.  Love it and $12.99 is a steal.

After sanding down the top and refinishing it, plus touching up the base and some new hardware, this piece is just what I was looking for.  You can see the whole thing here.

Now the hunt was on for a dresser, that took a couple of months, but I found just the perfect piece at a thrift store.  It was in great shape and had super storage, original hardware, but the top was really scratched.  Definitely needed to be refinished.
