Lemon Topiary

I have been wanting a lemon topiary for a long time, but the price just stops me every time I find one.

This is the kind I am talking about. This one is on line for $49, however I did see some at Home Goods for around $29 that were much smaller. I don’t want a really big one, just one about 12 to 14 inches tall.

A friend and I were out running around on Friday and we stopped into Michaels to pick up some flowers and to look around a little bit. I got some really pretty yellow and white tulips. I can’t wait to play with them.

While we were there, I wandered into the “faux fruit” section. They had these wonderful bunches of lemons for $5.95, so we decided that I could make a topiary for practically nothing. I had an old clay pot and some moss, plus I could reuse this piece of floral foam. (Now this is really called recycling)

I found some really small twigs in the backyard to wire around the stem. (oops I need to clip the ends off of the wire)

Looks pretty good for the price.

I also scored some carrots while I was there. They were $5.95 also, and best of all I had a 30% off coupon, so everything was a bargain.

The flowers and the fruit came to under $20, and I had a fabulous day with a friend. Now, off the make some kind of new arrangement with the tulips.
