Adding More White & Purging

Do you ever look around and discover that even though you love all of your accessories, everything looks soooooooooooooooo busy and you just have to thin things out and have a calmer look and feel. That’s exactly how I felt about the living room this week.

I think mainly what I wanted was less contrast with colors and more of a monotone look.

I replaced the two brass lamps with my white ones. They tend to blend in better with the rest of the white decor and white furniture.

This one is a simple ginger jar that I found at GW for about $5 I think. It’s nice and tall and I love it’s graceful lines. Some ginger jars are squatty, but this one is very slender and has an hourglass look. Really pretty shape.

This is another one from GW and I think it was around $5 too. I’ve had them both for a couple of years, so I don’t remember the exact price. I love them both, a great size and wonderful floral reliefs on this one.

I replaced the floral arrangement on the coffee table with a few things I originally had on the dining table.

Now when I walk in it just seems so much more relaxing and calm. So what do you think, are you also feeling that less is more? I’ve been adding more white to the house, I’ll show you more later.
