Today I get to Show Off and Brag about Kristin from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia. Just wait until you see how she has transformed her home into a stunning showplace. I love a good before and after and she shares quite a few. Her home is truly magazine worthy and as beautiful as she is.
Hello everyone
I’m Kristin from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia and I am so excited to be part of Marty’s Show Off & Inspire this week! I have long been a fan of Marty’s and I am honored to be here today!
I thought today it would be fun to give you a mini tour of our home. When we purchased our home 11+ years ago it was builder grade with lots of carpet, tile and beige. We have enjoyed turning our house into a home we love that fits out families needs.
One of our first projects was turning three small rooms (living, dining, family) into one large great room by knocking down a wall. This created a space that was 100% usable and functional which was so important for us
.
We turned the fireplace around that was hidden in the corner so it would be the focal point of the room.
We opened up the space under our stairs and created a very small wine room, with three kids and two dogs, mama enjoys her wine.
Our Kitchen renovation was one of our biggest accomplishments. We went from builder grade to custom made with lots of paint, elbow grease and trim. It took us about 5 years to complete but we are so proud of all our hard work. Sadly, we will be tearing down the whole kitchen in the next month due to mold. We had a slow leak that we were not aware of, everything is a loss and insurance won’t cover it, it truly is heartbreaking.

We eventually made our way into the master and updated it with lighter shades of paint and wood floors. I painted the cabinets in the bathroom, added trim around the mirrors and we updated our backsplash.
The Loft was a complete modge podge. By repainting the desk and bookshelves and adding a new chair it completely changed the whole look of the space.
You can find more on this transformation below.

If you would like to see the rest of the home I would love for you to stop by and say Hi, I love making new friends. Hopefully you can enjoy some of my tips on getting a designer look on a dime! Thank you so much for having me, Marty!
Take Care-
