I am so thrilled to be able to Show Off and Brag about Amanda from Dixie Delights. You aren’t going to believe all the fabulous Before’s and After’s she shares. Talk about decorating talent and the ability to see the possibilities in a space, wow, she definitely has that gene. Amazing transformation for her home. On top of all of that, she is just the cutest lady, and has such a sweet personality too. If you don’t already know her, you are in for a treat, and you are going to love her and her style.
I’m Amanda from Dixie Delights and I am *delighted* that Marty invited me to share my home with y’all today. I grew up on one of Savannah’s barrier islands, and my husband and boys share my love for the marshes, rivers, and moss laden trees of the “hostess city” of the South. In that vein, we have spent the last four years making our forty-four year Atlanta home really feel like it’s ours. Take a peek at our take on Southern Coastal…
Just a couple of months ago we finally finished working on the exterior, in what just might be the most dramatic before and after of the lot!
We immediately fell head over heels for this place, in spite of its dark and outdated interior. We painted everything from the ceilings to the baseboards before moving in.
The living spaces were gracious in size, but a little depressing with their dark trim, dark blinds and stained carpets. One by one we have filled them with family heirlooms, things we love, and things we’ve made. The living room was most recently finished and is truly one of my favorite spaces in the house!
Many memories have been made in our dining room over Sunday suppers, holiday feasts and family celebrations.
The kitchen had already been renovated and was just perfect! It was a dream come true for me!!
I’ve been in the middle of rearranging the family room furniture all summer and don’t have it right quite yet. You can still get a great idea of its look and feel from these pictures.
Upstairs we have four bedrooms. None were terribly bad (or remarkably good) and so far we’ve tackled the master, guest room (gotta have a place for the grandparents!) and my littlest son’s room.
Downstairs we have a basement space – and boy am I glad we do! We didn’t have much leeway with ceiling heights or window placements but we finished it ourselves and its perfect for the bunches of little boys that are always congregating at our house!
Last summer we turned our deck into a screened porch. It is already the heart of the house – from coffee in the morning to s’mores in the evening. It’s my favorite “room” of all!
And finally, my husband cleaned up and organized the mess of a garage with thoughtful built-ins and a heap of hard work.
I’m so excited that I was able to give y’all a peek into our home! For ALL the before and afters, sources and details, be sure to check out my house tour.
THANK YOU, Marty, for having me today and for being a bright spot on my blog roll every day!
Can you believe all the changes. It’s hard to realize this is the same house. I love, love , love her style and her. So be sure to pop over and click to follow her if you don’t already. Dixie Delights
