I have been wanting to change the wall behind the sofa in the family room for a long time. This is the only wall area in that room, the rest of the space is windows. Lots of windows. I was looking through my Charles Faudree books for a little decorating inspiration and I was drooling over some of his wall collages, so I found a few things in my stash to create my own.
I love it when you can add a bunch of different things and pull off the look you were going for.
This gives the room a totally different look.
It’s funny how some rooms just seem hard. Finding the right furniture pieces is one thing and then finding how to work with just one wall as the focal point is another problem in itself.
This is what the wall has looked like for the last couple of years
Here it is now, so what do you think?
I moved the larger dog paintings to the other side of the mirror, it seemed like that side needed the extra volume and weight.
I started with a corbel I’ve had for years.
Then I added a needlework picture, a small ivy, a couple of tiny books and a brass looking bulldog. You can see how I transformed the bulldog here.
I found a cute dog picture on line and printed it out to use in both of my small frames.
My paintings stayed the same, I just moved them to the other side of the mirror.
It always takes me a while to get used to something new, but I do like it, I think it is a big improvement, plus it didn’t cost me a dime. I already had everything, so it was fun to find a way to use it.
So what do you think? Should I leave it or figure out something else? Be sure to check out my feature on Blogger Homes today, and also see me on Houzz. Just click on either button on my sidebar..
