Today is really very special to me, I have the pleasure of being able to Show Off and Brag about Rhoda of Southern Hospitality.
The title of her blog describes her perfectly. She is definitely Southern and one of the most gracious and generous ladies in all of blogland. She is always so willing to share all of her DIY and Decor, plus she includes a tutorial so there is no guess work. She is one of the bloggers that was kind enough to help me when I first started blogging, and I appreciated that so much. Even though she is one of the “big” bloggers, she had time for a new-comer. I know you are going to enjoy her home tour, it is amazing.
Thank you, Marty, for featuring my house on your
blog today! I’m happy to stop by and share.
After a long journey of
getting into a house again, I moved into my fixer upper 1979 tri-level in
October of 2012 and couldn’t be happier with my house. It truly has become my
home sweet home and I’m grateful for it every single day. My 86 year old dad
and I spent 6 months renovating this house, with the help of some capable hired
help along the way and it has turned into a sweet haven for me. Believe me, it
has come a long way since I first laid eyes on it back in April of 2012 and it
doesn’t even look like the same house. Thank goodness!
Here are
highlights from my home renovation, so I hope you enjoy the tour!
Every square inch of
my house was either painted or the floors replaced and you can see all the
Before and After photos on my blog.
I had plenty of
furniture to fill it up and everything fit so well in my new house.
I’ve been able to
add drapes and extra details around the house to really make it my
own.
The kitchen was a
complete gut job and I started over from scratch in here with Ikea cabinets and
I couldn’t be happier with them.
Rustic shelves were a
fun addition to my wall of subway tile.
My bedroom with
antiques and things collected along the way has become my sweet place of
rest.
This vanity I had fit
so nicely in this small nook and is the perfect spot for putting on
makeup.
The small master bath
gets a little extra detail added with this rustic cabinet found at a
yardsale.
My office space is
full of color and personality and is a perfect place to write my
blog.
The den is still
evolving, but this gallery wall was fun to put together around the TV
console.
Having a screened
porch was at the top of my list and I was so happy this house had one. It wasn’t
finished at all when I got the house, but just roughed in, but my dad and I
finished it up last June and it’s been a delight.
My laundry room is
one space I’m really proud of. It’s a huge space and with lots of paint and
imagination, I took it from a dark pit to a beautiful and useful
space.
Thanks again, Marty for inviting me over! I hope you’ll stop by
and visit me and see all these projects up close. It’s been such fun for me to
fix up this house and make it a home for myself!
Best,

Isn’t this a gorgeous home and you definitely need to visit her and see where it started and how it all came together. She did an amazing job of sharing the complete remodel along the way and you will definitely be inspired.
