If you have been looking for very long, some of the decorated pumpkins can be pretty expensive. Not to worry, you can decorate some for practically nothing and they are so easy to do.
I wanted some that had rhinestones, sequins, and pearls. The few that I found we way out of my price range, so I thought I could make some for much less.
I started with three that I already had from the dollar store that I painted white last year. I got out my craft metalic paint – –
and some stick on rhinestones and pearls from Michaels. I also had a pkg. of irridencent sequins. Time to get busy and create some glitzy pumpkins.
On one I painted the stem gold and left the pumpkin all white, then I added an assortment of stick-on rhinestones and pearls. I painted mod-podge over everything 3/4 of the way down and sprinkled sequins all over. When it was dry I just shook the excess sequins off into a bowl to put back in the pkgs.
On the second one I painted the stem and feathered gold half way down and did the same thing with rhinestones and sequins.
For the last one I painted 3/4 of the way down with gold, then did a few pearls and larger rhinestones. I only added the sequins to one side.
All done and time to use them in a couple of my fall vignettes. The white one looks pretty on top of the white box.
The other two wound up on this end table. I think they add a little glam to my decor.
This is about a 15-minute project and I have some pretty pumpkins to glitz up my fall decor. So, are you on the glitzy side or the rustic side or maybe both like me.
I LOVE these!!! What were the “original” pumpkins like, what were they made out of!!???

They were thosse $1 pumpkins from the 99c store. This was so easy and fun and they have held up well too.
