Time to start thinking about some appetizers for the holidays. One of my family’s all-time favorites is Won Tons.
I thought it was time to share my recipe again. Super easy and such a treat. You can make these ahead of time, just freeze and cook what you need.
This recipe is so easy. You’ll need 1 lb of ground beef – – – 1 can diced green chilies – Colby Jack Cheese – I always have all of these on hand.
The only thing I usually have to buy are Won Ton Wraps. ( You can find these at any grocery store)
Here is a step by step tutorial on how to make these easy and delicious treats.
Brown meat well then add the can of green chilies, cook together for 1 to 2 minutes.
Add 2 large handfuls of the shredded cheese.
Turn heat off and stir to melt and combine with the meat mixture.
Beat one egg in a bowl and set it aside to use when wrapping the won tons.
Place a small spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of the won ton skin –
Roll up from one corner about 3/4 of the way – –
Dip fingers in egg wash and rub on the two ends to moisten, then stick them together in sort of a bow fashion.
Place them on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer.
When they are frozen, package them up in freezer bags in a single layer – about 25 to the bag – and return to the freezer. This recipe makes about 75.
To serve – Place frozen in hot oil and fry until golden brown. These are small, so don’t overcook. Serve with salsa or seasoned ketchup as a dip.
I love having something I can pull out of the freezer at a minute’s notice and these are always a crowd-pleaser. I know your family and friends will love them too.
