Dots & Dashes – How To Create An Accent Wall

A lot of you have been asking about my dots and dash accents to the walls in my

  ORC Closet Makeover.

No, this is not wallpaper, it is just a really easy paint technique.

This is an accent fabric that I was using in the closet.  I loved the dots and thought I could replicate the look really easily.

As you can see, my paint job turned into something a little more stylized.   Instead of just dots, mine has a lot of dashes too, but it still turned out great.

I had a sample jar of black paint and the closet already had white walls, so I just took a brush and started dabbing.  I don’t think there is a right or wrong, just make them going in different directions and some big and some small.

Even next to the fabric it still looks ok.  This was so fun and something I might do in another room.  Maybe an entrance hall accent wall, or how about a laundry or powder room, how fun would that be.

Be a little daring, like I always say –

“It’s Just Paint, I’m Not Knocking Down Walls”
