Here is my new lamp. Well not new, just an old one that I made over to go with my new look. So far this really simple bedroom refresh has turned out to be a real challenge. I ordered a white comforter and it is suppossed to be here on Tuesday, so as a place filler I am just using white sheets. My accent fabrics didn’t work out as planned, so I just moved on to lamps. This is just a place filler for now too, but the finish did turn out ok.
Here’s where we started – Pretty basic bronze candlestick style.
After taping it off and giving it a coat of gold. This looks really gawdy at this point.
Now it has a light coat of bronze and a light dusting of white.
Here it is now with some gold painted on by brush to highlight raised areas. Then the whole thing got a spray of crystal clear to seal it. You can see how the dark and white spots add a little character.
This will be perfect for a while. I found one that I love, but at $175, I am waiting for it to go on sale. In the meantime this works just fine. Perfect size for the dresser.
This is the lamp on hubby’s side.
(Sorry for the yellow looking pictures, it has been raining for two days, but we so need it and I love it. Hard to take pics on really cloudy days.)
Ok, lamps down, on the other things. So far this is totally a save. The lamps I had, so the only cost was new shades. I found two great oval ones at “AT HOME” for a total$26. Now if the bedding works out that I ordered, then we are half way home.
You can still link up to Inspire Me. So much to see so check a few things out.
