Updating The Bookcases With New Treasures

Sometimes I change these bookcases up a lot and then for some reason they stay the same for a long time.  Must be laziness – haha.  Anyway, I found a new treasure on a recent shopping trip with a friend, so of course that called for a little rearranging.

I have looked for bookends for a while that I liked, then all of a sudden today I spotted these.  They have such a pretty patina and detail, love at first sight.  They’re even more special since a dear friend sent me a gift card.  Now I will think of her every time I see them.

Of course that meant a little rearranging of the bookcases.  Summer always makes me think of travel, the country, horses and green meadows.  So a theme sort of fell in place with travel globes, exotic treasures, timeless books and equestrian items.

My new bookends are perfect with this “stable ” painting.

This side took on a travel and nostalig theme also with my Huckleberry Finn Leather bound edition.

I love to create little vignettes within vignettes on the shelves, it helps them tell a story.
