Wow, this has taken a while and been a real challenge, but I am thrilled with the finished makeover. (Well, it is 99% finished. I still need to find a rug and the new faucet hasn’t arrived yet, but I am calling it done) When I redid this room 2 years ago, it was just shopping the house. No new paint, just a few different accessories. Well, after not being painted for 6 years, it was a little worse for the wear and needed to be freshened up. Paint became my nemesis, but I finally have the perfect off white that I wanted. I don’t want to talk paint for a very long time, this bathroom did me in. Anytime you paint one room 6 times, you have a problem.
I am loving all the new accessories. The black and gold Le Bain vanity set was a fabulous birthday present and is perfect against the white.
You can see my tutorial of how I made over the vanity here. The Gel Stain was a little tricky to work with, but the results are amazing.
The over the door towel rack is perfect to hold a couple of extra guest towels.
I love the colors in this shell painting, and it goes so well with my decor, grey, black and yellow.
The frame was a washed weathered gray when I bought the painting. I gave it a little makeover with some gold rub -n – buff and black paint. It coordinates much better now.
The paisley fabric with black/white/gray and yellow fits my style and adds the touch of color and punch that I wanted. Not too traditional or contemporary, just me.
The back wall has another fabulous painting and simple black and white towels.
The colors are perfect and I really like the aged gold frame.
We always need to see a before so we know what we started with, right? I loved this, but after 6 years it needed painting and refreshing and I really wanted to darken the cabinets too, so time for a makeover.
Nice and fresh and inviting. I am loving it. (I am always asked about the double shower curtain, I have a complete tutorial coming up.)
Still hunting for a rug and the faucet should be here in a week, then I can wrap this up and put a bow on it. It doesn’t look anything like my original inspiration board, but I am pleased with the outcome. It’s nice and clean and fresh. So what do you think?
