When you do a makeover big or small to any space, it always comes down to the details that make or break the final outcome. If you’ve been following along then you saw how the details were the most important thing in redoing my hall bathroom. You heard the saga of trying to find the right paint color, fixtures and accessories. When it finally all comes together the way you want, it is sheer joy.
I wanted to use gold for my fixtures, so towel bars, toilet paper holder and finally a faucet that I really like.
Such a pretty style and I really like that the faucet head swivels.
It looks amazing with the black and gold vanity set.
A brass tray for the top of the tank and additional black accessories add just the right amount of contrast.
I used my existing light, I just turned it around so the shades were up so it could distribute light evenly around the room. I had the shades turned down before and that put most of the light on the counter. Up gives much better light to the entire room.
The finish is oil rubbed bronze and I highlighted the details with a little gold rub-n-buff.
Using gel stain on the cabinet to achieve a dark walnut finish added so much warmth. I had some acrylic and brass knobs but one broke in a week so I replaced them with these cut crystal ones I found at Lowes.
A cosmetic makeover can be just what you were looking for if you pay attention to all the big and small details.
Nice to have this one done – done – done, and I’m glad all the details finally came together.
