I love the new horse painting I found for the familyroom wall, and I love the size, but I thought it needed something to finish off the space. A pair of candle sconces would be perfect.
To refresh your memory, this is what the wall looked like before with the mirror.
Then this is the room with the painting — Love how the painting totally changed the feel of the room, but it needed something – I just didn’t want to take away from the painting, just something to finish off the wall space.
A simple pair of sconces does just that. Since the painting is so big 3ft. x 4 1/2 ft. the sconces needed to be big. A small pair would look totally lost on the wall.
I like the slim silhouette and when I said big, I really meant it. These measure 33″ tall and I have used a 6 inch candle, so 39″ overall.
This room has 9 1/2 ft. ceilings, so large art works great in here and the sconces compliment the art without distracting from it.
Now the wall looks finished.
