I don’t have a traditional office space, I use the buffet in the breakfast area. This keeps me close to the action and work perfectly for me.
I am frequently asked questions about my desk accessories, and where I bought them. I thought I would do a round-up post with all the scoop.
A couple of years ago I decided to try and make my desk area pretty on a budget.
I found all kinds of thrifty ways to give this area bling and class.
DIY, Paint and Creativity was my solution.
Every desk needs storage, so this piece from goodwill was the perfect answer.
A little decopage and gold paint and the transformation was done.
You can see all the details and how-to of this and several other desk accessories here. (That little slanted door lifts open and is the perfect place to store my camera.)
The clear acrylic tray is the easiest and least expensive DIY you can possibly imagine.

Dishes from Goodwill are taped off and sprayed with a little gold metallic paint to hold paper clips.
Even a $1 note pad can be blinged up with a little gold leaf.
Stick on letters from Michael’s can make anything look custom and amazing.
I added my initials to the lucite tray and also to this simple dayplanner.
Bling and Chic all at the same time.
Add a few thrift store finds – —
Not a lot of money,
just a few projects and you can have a desk that works for you.
