As I showed you when I took you on a shopping spree, I am going to do Tartan Plaid-Cable Knit and Fur for a Elegant/Chic/Rustic Christmas in the family room. With that all decided it was time to figure out what I was going to do for the Living/Dining Room.
I had one yard of this fabulous Malachite fabric and I also have some Malachite wrapping paper. I thought that called for a White-Silver-Gold-Malachite Glitzy Christmas for the living room.
This fabric is amazing, but it doesn’t have any bling. I want to up the anti, so I started playing.
I got out my favorite gold leaf metallic paint and started playing with a scap of fabric.
I just did a bunch of random strokes and I have instant bling.
I love the sparkle and shine – and this was totally free. I already had the paint.
I had just enough for two pillow fronts, so I used some dark green fabric for the back and I piped them in some gold glitzy fabric that I had.
It’s a cloudy day so I can’t get a good picture, but here in person, this pillow is just sparkling. Love that.
Take any pillow you have, even a plain one and paint a little bling on it. A wider brush and heavier with the paint on white canvas creates a really dramatic effect.
It’s amazing how it transforms a pillow.
If you want some bling this Christmas, just paint it on.
I think crafting runs in the family. I just have to show you this really cute horseshoe pumpkin my son made for his girlfriend. Is this cute or what? I love it.
So how about you, have you got your craft creating bling or are you more creative?
