I am on a black and white kick and loving it. Farmhouse Chic is what I am calling it.
I ordered this fabric weeks ago, not sure why it took so long to get here.
These four fabrics will be fabulous to work with, I can’t wait to sew some pillows and maybe a table runner too. These got me to thinking about black and white, so I thought maybe I could pull something together.
I’ve had this check tablecloth for ages, I just never used it. Time to pull it out and see how it works. Now you all know that basically my house is cream and tan, but that doesn’t mean that black and white can’t work.
I decided to go through my stash and pull out some of my other black and white. Of course I think the Ikea pillow that is world famous is always great, and how could I not dream up something with my wonderful throw that Santa brought me.
(Now I have to tell you the cutest story about this throw. Hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas – I told him I saw a really pretty white fox fur with brown tips throw at HomeGoods. He said ok. Now he would normally just tell me to go buy it, instead he just said ok. Come Christmas morning he pulled out this really big box and looked so excited. He exclaimed that he found exactly what I said I wanted. Now mind you, he really did go to HomeGoods which is totally amazing all by itself. When I unwrapped the present, this is what I found – a gray feathery fur throw with white tips. I don’t have one single thing in my house that is gray. I am not sure how white fox with brown tips got translated into gray feathery, but I adore it. He tried, so that is what means the world to me.)
Isn’t this a fun throw, I love it and of course I absolutely had to figure out how to make it the star of the show.
I pulled aother abstract design black and white pillow out of my stash and of course I added in some black sequin for a little glitz on the chair.
A gray sequine scarf from a friend looks awesome on the ottoman and I adore the gold orb.
Such a simple and refreshing change after Christmas. I think we can always be open to “new” don’t you?
Have you been making tons of changes too? How about a different color scheme – is it something you like to try out?
