The other day I was stripping down the living room and purging a ton of accessories to give the room a more open and airy feel. You know how I am on a kick to open spaces up for a little breathing room. After purging and editing the family room, I just had to do something with the living room. It looked way too cluttered to me. Sometimes more is great and then sometimes less is best. With warmer days and thinking of spring, I just have the urge to have more breathing room and open spaces. Since my home isn’t large that means paring down and purging and easing up on accessories and clutter.
Once everything was out of the room, I started looking at my stash to see what direction I was going in. Well, those pretty orange and white tulips just caught my eye and I couldn’t resist. (Now I know they are faux, but they are so pretty anyway.)
I also had those new black pillows (from Amazon) that I wanted to use since I still had the black and white check tablecloth (from Boscov’s) on the side table. You can see the post here where I showed you all the fabulous pillows on sale at Amazon. Pillow covers with zippers in so many gorgeous colors and designs for under $7 each. Ok, back to the task at hand, and no I was not compensated by Amazon. Just passing along some great deals.
Looking through my stash I also had two orange velvet pillows. Maybe just the orange, black and white and leave the rest simple. Now I don’t want this to look like Halloween, but I don’t think it does, just bright and cheery.
” Just one pop of color can be fun.”
This pop of color just says “Spring Is On The Way” to me. We have had such warm days, it definitely feels like spring. Editing out the ottoman and simplifying the accessories makes the room feel so much bigger.
This gives me tons of ideas on how to brighten up things for Spring when it really gets here.
How about you, are you in the mood for spring and some bright cheery pops of color?
