You know how it goes, you look and look for just the right thing and you just can’t seem to find anything that says “that’s it” to you. Then when you are looking for something else, all of a sudden there is the perfect thing.
When I showed you the lampshade makeover that I did for the two lamps in our master bedroom, I shared how I was using a thrift store made over lamp on the dresser that I was less than excited about. It was just barely in the “ok” category, but I just couldn’t seem to find anything that I liked and really didn’t know what I wanted at all.
You know “WHEN IN DOUBT – DO NOTHING”.
I ran to Hobby Lobby to get some yarn that I wanted for a pom pom project I have going on and of course you also have to stop a block away at Home Goods. I was just roaming up and down all the aisles like I usually do and all of a sudden, there it was. The perfect lamp for my dresser.
It wasn’t expensive to begin with, but I’ll take a sale price anyday.
Love the shape and the gold gild and acrylic base.
I decided I knew why it was on sale, it came with this really weird tall column shade that just overpowered the lamp. That was fine by me since I knew that the shade I made over last week would look fabulous.
This is the thrift store lamp I have been using. See it isn’t horrible, it just isn’t what I really want and the look I am going for.
I think my shade and this base are a marriage made in heaven.
Piece by piece this room is coming together.
What’s your latest find that just happened to be there when you weren’t even looking?
Be sure to get all of your projects lined up for Inspire Me Tuesday. Party goes live Monday afternoon at 3 PM CMT. Can’t wait to see you there.
