Since I am redoing the kitchen I think the adjoining breakfast area needs a little attention too. I love my trestle table. It has a fabulous secret that most people don’t know about.
The top slides over and folds in half so it can become a library table. Isn’t that amazing. I love this. (This picture was takena while back in my dining room)
The trestle base is so pretty with it’s turned posts.
I love that the top is planked and distressed solid oak. I’ve had this table for over 20 years and it is still in perfect condition.
See how pretty the color and finish is.
The chairs are so heavy, really solid too. They’re a great classic traditional style.
I bought these on consignment years ago and you can imagine my surprise when I turned the table and chairs over and saw this.
It came with 6 chairs, I have loaned 2 to my son for his breakfast room.
The style is still a favorite. When I am having extra guests I can add a couple of rush topped benches from under the coffee table. If I need to seat 8 then I can add two rush benches to each end and have plenty of room for everyone.
I love the bench idea a lot, so I thought maybe an upholstered one would add some extra character to the set. I love the style and color of this one. A charcoal gray linen that should work beautifully with my new barstools for the kitchen island. I found it on Josh & Main – $133.95 regularly $209.99.
Can’t wait to get it and rearrange things.
How about you, do you like to use benches on the dining table?
