I was hosting a small dinner for 7 last Saturday, so I wanted to set a really pretty table. Since this was an informal gathering, I set the table in the breakfast area. I love to use this space since it is part of the kitchen/family room and where everyone always hangs out anyway. I have yellow, gray and gold going on in the family room, so I wanted the table to compliment that decor.
Lots of gold, white and some fabulous gray and white stripe napkins I found at Ross the other day.
I always like to add just a touch of greenery it seems to ground every setting.
The rustic runners are a great contrast to the gold and the linen texture stripe napkins.
BUT DO YOU SEE SOMETHING MISSING HERE?
I think the jewelry of any table is the crystal. Now it can be simple clear, frosted or colored. I chose to add a little more gold.
Ahhhhh – the finishing touch and definitely emphasizes the gold I have going on with the candles.
I love how the gold detail on these stemless glasses are the jewelry for this table.
Dinner was really simple and casual. We had a Taco Bar with all the fixings, Cheesy Refried Beans and of course Sangria for the adults and Pink Lemonade for the youngest. Dessert was Strawberry Shortcake. The Coffee Bar was set up with Kahlua, Mocha and Carmel.
A great evening to celebrate my youngest sons and my birthdays. I love having family together. Yes, I was really spoiled as usual. Beautiful roses, touching cards and fabulous presents.
