2016 Fall Home Tour
As they say, shall we start at the beginning – – –
We don’t have a very large porch, just big enough for two rockers, but I love to add a couple of pillows and a throw to make it inviting. I kept my decor neutral to blend in with the house and what I have going on inside too.
If you are new here Welcome. I live in a very small builder basic house in the desert that I am trying to turn into my dream home one project at a time. Room by room and project by project we are making changes that more reflect my style. My latest upgrade and change has been the addition of wood floors. I love them and am having so much fun decorating my new spaces.
Come on in, the first thing you see is the living/dining room. I chose a really simple monochromatic color scheme for fall. I wanted something soothing and calm that would showoff and enhance my new floors and go with my fun cowhide rug.
Black, camel and tan are some of my favorite colors. They add just enough contrast while keeping everything simple and what I call “rustic elegance”
Of course when you throw in some gold, I think it is perfect.
Since we don’t have an entry (you walk right into the living room) I love having the ottoman here as a dumping ground for my shoes and purse when I come in. This is also my quiet spot where I escape to read a good book or magazine and prop my feet up.
I keep the dining area at the end of the room simple since space is limited.
Just a few feathers and pods for a fun centerpiece.
Our home is an open floor plan so I like to keep the decor and colors flowing from one area to the other. Pulling colors from the horse painting, I used some animal print, plaid and camel suede pillows and accessories.
The adjoining breakfast area got a little more glammed up with a lot of gold.
If you missed it, you can see our recent makeover of the kitchen here.
The kitchen is definitely the center of our home. It is open to the familyroom/breakfast area and I can see through the large opening into the living/dining room also.
Pheasants, wheat and bits of nature always remind me of fall.
Down the hall is the master bedroom. This room is so easy to change, the black and soft camel colored walls go with anything. I kept the colors pretty neutral in here too with a couple of camel colored pillows and a plaid camel throw.
That’s it – I am thrilled that you stopped by today. I hope you will come back often.
Now be sure to hop over to see the other 5 homes today.
