Let’s Talk About The New House

I have been referring to our new home as the Builder Basic.  Now the reason I call it that is because that is exactly what it is.  This is the basic floor plan with no upgrades that the builder offered at the time the house was built.

I got an email from a friend that asked why I kept calling this new house “The Builder Basic”.  She said it was a beautiful home and one I should be proud of and grateful to have.

Oh my, I never in any way intended for anyone to think that I wasn’t proud of this house and that I wasn’t grateful.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  If you have followed me for a while you know that I have been praying for a home to become available in a price range I could afford and in an area close to our children.  This house is an answer to my prayers.  It is within 15 minutes of my family and in a beautiful area that is central to all of Phoenix.

(I am loving the dining area.  It is large enough that I can extend with all 4 leaves.)

Another reason I loved this house is because it is “basic”.  There are no upgrades that don’t match my style and that I would have to work around.  I can upgrade as we can afford to to make it truly mine.  I think that is a super bonus.

(Still trying to figure out what works in the bedroom.  More on that later.)

I truly am grateful to have this home and to be able to be near family.  I am also grateful that I can decorate it to reflect my taste and even if I couldn’t change a thing, this is a home that I truly love.

I hope you will follow along as I turn “The Builder Basic” into my dream home one space at a time.
This home is a Blessing beyond belief.
