Shopping For New Floors – Kitchen & Familyroom

With the kitchen remodel well underway, it is time to pick out the new floors.  Right now we have well worn linoleum in the kitchen, pantry and laundry room.  It is definitely due for an update.  The adjoining family room has new carpet, but the previous owners ran it right up to the adjoining kitchen peninsula and it is not what I would like.  We are planning on putting in a pool this summer (I hope) and if so, we need something that can handle water.  Going in and out of the family room and kitchen to the patio and pool it would only make sense to have something that is waterproof.

I love the look of wood floors and I was crazy about the ones we put in our previous home.  I would love to have something that had that same look.  Off to my favorite place in the world to look for flooring. (This is a sponsored post by Floor & Decor)

I got my floors for the previous house at Floor & Decor and found they had the best selection and price of anywhere in town.   They have every kind of flooring you could ever want.

They have every laminate, bamboo, engineered or solid hardwood flooring you could possibly dream up and in every color for any style.

They have a fabulous selection of tile that looks like wood.  I loved this one especially.

And just look at these, they look so much like wood.

There’s a new to me product that really answered my needs perfectly.  It is called NuCore.  This product has the look and feel of real wood floors but is 100% waterproof.  You can see a great video about this product here.

There are so many colors to choose from.  You can go dark, light or anywhere in-between.

This one really caught my eye.  Not too dark or light.  I think this would be perfect for my new floors.  This one is called Gunstock Oak.

Floor & Decor was kind enough to collaborate with me again on my flooring and I can’t thank them enough.  This is going to be the perfect product for my needs.  When the pool goes in I won’t have to worry about any water that gets tracked in and I won’t have to worry about any spills in the kitchen.  This will replace all current linoleum in the kitchen, pantry and laundry and the carpet in the family room.  Having all the same flooring throughout those areas will give them a much more cohesive look.

Next I needed to look for something for a backsplash for my new kitchen.  I think I want marble of some kind, but not sure what.  There was so much to see that again it could be totally overwhelming.

I think I am leaning towards something like this – – –

or maybe just the standard brick pattern second from the right – –

or the herringbone is nice – –

Ok, I guess I need to pick out a couple of samples and put them next to my granite when it gets installed and go from there.

At least I have the floors nailed down and I am sooooooooooo excited.

If you are looking for any kind of flooring or tile for any project, be sure to check out Floor & Decor.  I am sure you will find the perfect product and at the best price in town.
