Welcome, I am thrilled you are here and so happy to be kicking off the 2017 Spring Home Tour. We have some of the most beautiful homes in all of blogland sharing their Spring Decor with you this week, so be sure to check back everyday to see them all. 30 homes over 5 days, you really don’t want to miss a single one.
If you are new to my blog welcome. A little background – we received the keys to our new home on Dec. 17,2016. During these last three months with trying to get settled, we also jumped right in and two weeks after moving in started the remodel of our downstairs and kitchen. We feel like we have made some major improvements to our “Builder Basic”, but still have a lot to do. I am so excited to show you the progress we’ve made so far.
So WELCOME, let me show you around.
Soaring ceilings and huge windows are some of my favorite features of this home. I love a light bright home and this one has huge windows in every room that let in tons of light.
Simple soft gold tones with cream add just the right touch of color for spring.
I continued the simple gold and cream theme in the dining area also.
I think the huge bouquet of tulips is all the table really needed to compliment a simple table setting.
From the dining area, we can go through the arch to the kitchen/family room.
The kitchen is pretty much the same for spring, white and gold. This has been our main area of concentration so far. We have totally redone this space from top to bottom.
This is what it looked like when we bought it.
To see the details of the full renovation – click here. We saved a ton of money by keeping some of the cabinets, rearranging a few and adding a few new ones. New paint, counters, appliances and floors and we had a major remodel.
I’ve kept the accessories simple in here, just the things I use everyday.
One of my favorite things is this fabulous walk in pantry next to the fridge.
This is a dream.
We are loving our new kitchen.
The breakfast area adjoins the kitchen, so I kept the same gold and cream theme.
This area has two huge windows so wall space is at a premium, but I had to find a spot that would hold my “Old Man Praying – Giving Thanks” I love this painting.
Candles, a little greenery and a gorgeous swan speak Spring to me.
Be sure to come back next week to see Part #2 – I will share the progress we’ve made upstairs.
Thanks for the visit and if you would like to see the “Builder Basic” when we bought it you can see that here, and you can see the kitchen and bathroom remodels here, here, here and here.
Now you definitely don’t want to miss the rest of today’s lineup –
Decor To Adore – Laura is a dear friend that used to live close by before she moved to Texas. She has been putting her stamp on her “Storybook Cottage” for the last 2 years and it is amazing. She pays such attention to detail and her “Spring” decor is gorgeous.
Southern Hospitality – Rhoda did a complete remodel on her gorgeous home a few years ago and didn’t stop there. She is constantly changing and refreshing every single space. Her style is transitional with a fresh approach to using color and pattern. Always tons of inspiration.
Pink Peppermint Design – Tammy’s style and decor is fabulous. I love how she mixes pattern and color to create such warm, interesting and inviting spaces. She always has a fresh and interesting take on accessorizing too.
Cuckoo4Design – Julia does black and white better than anyone in blogland. Instead of it being plain and boring, she manages to make black and white bright, cheerful and oh so Chic and Elegant.
21 Rosemary Lane -Barbara’s home is full of her wonderful DIY projects and I am convinced she wrote the book on how to accessorize any space. Always full of inspiring ideas. Check out how she uses two vases of flowers for her centerpiece.
Be sure to come back tomorrow to see these fabulous homes.
