If you have been following along, then you know that my buffet server has been used for everything you could possibly imagine other than a buffet. This piece of furniture has been in nearly every room of my house at one time or the other. I found this piece at a consignment store about 20 years ago and had it in the dining room of my old house. Perfect. Then when we sold that house 12 years ago it began life as the “whatever” piece. It was used for whatever I needed at the moment.
Remember I showed you that it was used as my desk in the last house. It actually worked really well as a desk. Plenty of room to store all my desk needs and a really nice big work surface. I also had tons of fun decorating it, plus I had the advantage of being able to look out a window.
When we moved into this house and I was struggling so hard to figure out how to arrange the family room, it was used for the tv. Then I finally figured out a better arrangement and it was moved out of the room along with several other pieces of furniture.
That’s when it was moved to the guest bedroom to serve as a dresser in there. Then I finally found a dresser that I liked at a used furniture store, so it got moved again.
Now it’s found a home in the upstairs landing area. Not necessarily where it should be, but since this has become the “whatever” piece it works.
The landing is really quite big, so it fits nicely and I always appreciate having the extra storage.
So I guess for now it has found home.
Do you have a “Whatever” piece in your home?
