I feel like it is Christmas a little early. My coffee table got here last Saturday and I love it. I think it is the perfect piece, style and size for my family room. This is a small room so the 34″ size is perfect. I also love that it has a bottom glass shelf too. That gives me more room for books and magazines, but still allows the table to fade into the background, I love being able to see the cowhide rug through the glass.
The finish is just the right shade of brass to go with my sconces too. I know I am going to have tons of fun styling it. I put a wicker basket and a few books on it for now. I think this will become a favorite place to play with different vignettes.
Little by little my makeover plans will take shape. The sofa will be here after Christmas so that will make a big difference too. Still haven’t decided about chairs or what I want to do next to the TV, but so far I am liking it. The TV table needs to be painted I think. Not liking the black. If I go with the charcoal gray recliners, then I think a soft gray wash to really lighten up this piece would look good.
Ok, one step at a time. I have to wait a bit on the two new recliners. Some front yard landscaping has climbed to the top of the ladder along with some more landscaping in the backyard. (The pool side looks wonderful, the other side is a disaster. Need to clean that up!!!) Hubby was in the hospital to have some medical tests which cost the price of a small car, so my money tree is looking a little skimpy. Best news though is they said his heart is one of the strongest things about him. PRAISE THE LORD. Being Blessed with a healthy husband is so much better than new furniture any day, so I will just water my money tree and feed it so it can grow.
For now I am enjoying my new coffee table and smile every time I walk in the room.
