YIP-SKIPP !!!!!!! My new sofa is here and I love it.
There is quite the story about this sofa – it is free. Now how do you get a free sofa, you get it from your daughter. Ok, this is how the story goes. She is building a new house and 3 months before the house was scheduled to be completed, she decided it was time to put her current home up for sale. A photographer came to take pictures for the MLS listing. This was a Friday night and the house wasn’t supposed to be listed until the following week. A realtor knocked on the door (apparently she saw his sign on his truck) and asked if the house was going to be up for sale soon and could she take a walk through because she had clients looking in this area. My daughter said ok, so the lady took a stroll through. She asked if she could call her clients, so her clients came right over. The next morning my daughters realtor called to say that the people that looked at the house wanted it. Full cash offer and they wanted all the furniture and accessories too, so could my daughter put together a price for all the furniture and accessories. Then the extra bonus was since my daughters house wouldn’t be finished for 3 months, they could stay in the house until it was finished. My daughter gave her a price for all the furniture and accessories and she bought it all except for her living room furniture. She said she was going to use that room for an office. Now this was a 3000+ square foot home and decorated beautifully. Since most of this furniture wasn’t going to fit in my daughters new home anyway, this was all totally unreal – and to get to stay in the house and not have to move was more than you could even dream up if you tried.
Well fast forward three months and this past weekend I helped them as they moved into their new house. It is totally amazing. I can’t wait to share pictures as they get settled. She definitely has to buy a lot of furniture since this house is bigger than the one they sold. Here’s a couple of iphone pictures that I took while the electrician was there installing the pendant lights and bathroom lights.
This is her kitchen. I love it. I am standing in the dining area so you get a feel of how big it is.
This is the master bathroom – I can’t wait to show you more.
So this weekend with the movers loading up their personal stuff, I got to pick up her living room sofa and now it is mine.
The fabric is a beautiful cotton/polyester velvet, so pretty and supposed to wear really well.
Now I am one step closer to getting this room the way I want it.
