How To Get Your Bed Ready For Spring

Spring is the perfect time to get rid of all the heavy winter bedding and add some light cool comfortable bedding to your bed.

It doesn’t get super cold here in the desert, but it can get down into the 30’s and it usually is in the 40’s most of winter, so we love having some great flannel sheets to keep us warm. Now that it is warming up and spring is here, time to change the bedding and freshen things up.

I like to start with a new or fresh washed mattress cover. Everything nice and clean and fresh.

Then some fresh new sheets. I try to buy at least one new set of quality sheets every spring. I always judge sheets by how soft and silky they are and how generous the fit is. We have a 13″ mattress and then the quilted mattress cover, so all in all about 14″. This pair has such generous gussets and corners that they fit beautifully around the mattress with plenty to tuck in for a nice smooth fit.

The beautiful embroidery border looks so pretty turned down at the top too.

Also, just look at how long this top sheet is. It has plenty of length to tuck in. I hate it when you can’t tuck in everything tightly and these are awesome.

The pillow cases have the same beautiful embroidery detail. This makes for such a pretty bed.

I replaced our heavier blanket with a light one. The white quilt we use can be pulled up if we need extra warmth. Switching out the pillows is always fun and adding a light throw in case I want to take a nap adds some more spring sunshine color.

Now we are all set for those warmer days and the bed will keep us cool and comfy all night.
