I know I keep saying I am going to paint the vanities in both bathrooms upstairs, but I just keep changing my mind. So I am going to just stew on the master bathroom for a while and think about giving the hall bathroom a little personality.
This is what it currently looks like. Just a really builder basic bathroom that is dressed with leftovers from the last house. Nothing really horrible, but nothing really amazing either.
It reminds me of the hall bathroom from our previous home. Nothing bad, just sort of ho-hum. This is when we first moved in and I used a tropical shower curtain that I had from another previous home.
Then after a couple of years I decided it was time to paint and give this bathroom a little love. So new shower curtain, light fixture and accessories. I took out the medicine cabinet too so we could have a towel bar. You can see that complete makeover here.
Then a few years later, it was time to paint and freshen up things again. I used Gel Stain on the cabinet, painted and all new hardware and accessories. You can see this complete makeover here.
Since it is just the two of us and we don’t have a lot of overnight guests, hubby has chosen to have this as his bathroom. It is the first door out of the master bedroom, so really easy to get to. He loves to be able to do his thing and I can do mine in the master. Our previous master bathroom was square with a large open floor plan and tons of room for two people to move around. The master bathroom in this house is a galley type with everything on one wall and not a lot of moving around room.
I want to keep it on the masculine side but still keep the style of the house. As far as remodeling goes, I am thinking of replacing the medicine cabinet mirror door with a cabinet door, replacing mirror, faucet and I really think I want to use the Gel Stain on this cabinet like I did in the previous home. It looks so pretty and some fabulous hardware would really update it too. Then I’ll see about artwork, shower curtain, rug and counter accessories.
So what do you think?
