If you follow me then you know I have been auditioning all kinds of furniture, art and accessories for my living room. I am in the process of a makeover of sorts. (That huge mirror I had over the sofa is gone – now what?) My daughter has loaned me some art to fill up the empty wall behind the sofa for now, however I am struggling with adding color that doesn’t clash with the art.
(I am also practicing, practicing, practicing with my new camera. I am taking hundred of shots. Still a learning curve, but they are getting better.)
I have some rust and black on the patio and it looks great, so I thought I would try the same thing here.
I pulled out some teal pillow covers that you see on the chair, they didn’t look exactly like what I wanted for fall. However I did find out that the teal color would work with the art.
This is what I have been using for a while. The Brown is nice, but I really am a color girl.
I only buy pillow covers whenever I can. If a pillow comes with an insert that isn’t down, then I take the insert out and give it to Goodwill. Then all I have to store are a gazillion pillow covers. When I want to audition a pillow for a new arrangement and color scheme, I just drape one of the covers over an existing pillow to see how it looks.
This works, but maybe this is a little more winter or Halloween than fall.
I think I like the idea of just the orange for fall and keeping the antelope pillows to go with it. The floral arrangement on the coffee table adds more orange around the space.
Yes, this brings a little fall into the room and it is still light and airy.
At the same time, I found a mirror to replace the borrowed art and I think it is a winner. So here is how the room looks now.
I think I am finally getting the room to look like me, I am loving the mirror and the way it adds some character to the wall.
So do you go really bright and bold for Fall or do you tame it down a little like me.
