It seems like 2018 just flew by. I know I say that every year, but boy that is so true this year. Being in our new home meant we had a ton of projects and still do, however we did get quite a few things crossed off the list.
With some of the dirty remodeling projects done, it was time to do a little decorating. The family room was first on my list to get a couple of new furniture pieces. When you move into a new home, existing furniture doesn’t always work in a new space. That was the case with our family room. This is a smaller area than our previous home and it needed me to rethink this whole space. There are still a couple of things that we want to do in here, but a new furniture arrangement and a few new furniture pieces made it so much more liveable.
The Master Bedroom Closet was refreshed. We are lucky enough to have his and hers closets in this home, so I gave mine a little makeover. I think maybe next I will add some paint or wallpaper to the back wall and give my primping area a little more character.
Our Laundry Room is just a hallway from the kitchen to the garage, no cabinets and really small. My appliances aren’t new either, but I decided to make the best of what I had and add a little decor and some storage baskets. You can see how I pulled it together on a dime.
In March we had the 2017 Spring Home Tours. This brought you up to date at this point on the living room.
The Loft aka Girl Cave/Office got a little makeover. I moved furniture around. I took a few pieces out and added some new in plus new decorations.
I shared how to Hang The TV Over Bedroom Dresser with almost invisible wiring.
Guest Bedroom New headboard makeover, thrift store furniture and accessories made this a comfortable room on a dime.
We added more Landscaping & Decor Around The Pool.
In June we had our 2018 Summer Home Tours.
The Master Bathroom got a refresh.
With summer in full swing, The Patio Got A Thrifty Makeover. This had become the dumping ground for whatever. Time to clean up the view by adding some curtains too. See what a difference a little TLC makes.
I had back surgery the end of June, so most of the summer was spent recovering and just relaxing and enjoying the pool. They had to add two rods and 4 screws to put me back together, but I am doing great. Just a few restrictions until all that stuff heals.
In September we had the 2018 Fall Home Tours. Mostly cosmetic changes, but I keep trying to refine each room.
In October I gave the Living Room A Makeover. The big mirror was replaced and some new furniture pieces too. These few changes make the room feel much more like me.
We finished off the year with our
2018 Christmas Home Tours I enjoyed decorating the whole house from top to bottom. Check out each room for all the details.
Patio & Yard Christmas – Day & Night The final bit of decor was the backyard. We love our pool and so enjoy our outdoor spaces, so a few lights and a bit of Christmas seemed perfect.
There is still so much to do. This year I hope to tackle the two upstairs bathrooms and change out a few more furniture pieces that will better suit this house. Then there is always the fluffing and editing that seems to happen too. I can’t wait to share it all with you.
To stay up to date on all the makeovers taking place at our new home, I would love to have you follow me. You don’t want to miss any of our“Hits & Misses”.
