Last fall I did a re-run of how I did my Glam Closet Makeover in our previous house and how I was sprucing up my current closet. My ORC Glam Closet Makeover has been pinned thousands of times and I am continually asked questions about it. So I thought I would give you a re-run.
A lot of you have been asking about my dots and dash accents to the walls in my
No, this is not wallpaper, it is just a really easy paint technique.
This is an accent fabric that I was using in the closet. I loved the dots and thought I could replicate the look really easily.
As you can see, my paint job turned into something a little more stylized. Instead of just dots, mine has a lot of dashes too, but it still turned out great.
I had a sample jar of black paint and the closet already had white walls, so I just took a brush and started dabbing. I don’t think there is a right or wrong way or technique, just make them going in different directions and some big and some small.
Even next to the fabric it still looks ok. This was so fun and something I might do in another room. Maybe an entrance hall accent wall, or how about a laundry or powder room, how fun would that be.
This turned out to be a favorite DIY project of all time. It was fun to turn our closet into something pretty and easy. It went from this – – –
To this with just a little paint and a few small projects.
You can see the whole makeover here if you missed it.
Go for it and try something new – like I always say –
