Want to refresh a small bathroom without a complete remodel? Here is how to change just a few things for a whole new look.
I really would like to totally gut our two upstairs bathrooms and start from scratch. They are pretty Builder Basic for sure. This home is 14 years old and the two upstairs bathrooms are exactly like the builder built them. When we bought the house 2 years ago we did install new flooring, but that is all this little hall bathroom got in the way of a makeover. However, a gut job is not in the budget at the moment, so a small refresh will have to do for now.
I do have it on my list to stain the vanity, but that is scheduled after the master bathroom gets a refresh. For now a pretty new Black and White Plaid rug makes a huge difference in how cheerful and chic this little bathroom looks.
Here is a view of what it has looked like since we moved in. Pretty simple and that rug looks really worn. Mostly the same accessories and art that was in our previous home.
Time to swap out some accessories and add some spice to this space. I’ve kept most everything except the vanity top accessories. I swapped out the white for some pretty black accessories I had.
The shower curtain is black/white & yellow, so it still works in here.
Maybe next year it will get a full gut job – it might even get the old vanity stained in the mean time. I’m working on that. I also have plans for a new faucet and replacing the mirror. I think some floating shelves above the toilet would give more storage and look more updated too. These are all little changes that can give it a more up to date look for very little money while I save for a full gut job. Ok, the challenge is one, I am going to see if I can put some of these ideas into action on a really, really small budget.
Ok, better for now. Hubby uses this bathroom as his since it is right outside the Master Bedroom door. We both enjoy having our own bathrooms, it makes getting ready so much easier.
