I hope you noticed a few changes in how my blog looks. I switched over to WordPress. I know, I am the last person to switch, but I wasn’t having any significant problems with blogger so I stayed. Now things are getting more confusing with that platform and limited, so I made the switch. I have a ton to learn, so bear with me. I am still getting things set up, but so far I am loving all the added features. Any and all advice would be appreciated. I so hope that you all will continue to follow me on this platform, I love connecting with you.
Now on to the business at hand. I love to take a day and just wander through thrift stores or stop and check out a few yard sales. You never know what you will find. I had such a day this past week where I had time to just wander around. Always so fun. I stumbled upon a yard sale that had something that caught my eye.
You all know that I love wicker, I use it all over the house in baskets, tablescapes and anywhere I can. So when I saw two of these chairs at a yard sale I couldn’t resist. Great price and perfect condition, so I caved and brought them home.
I also have a wicker chair that I love and have moved all over the house. Most recently moving it back inside to the family room. Now this room has given me tons of problems – we live in this room. Since it is connected to the kitchen, has the TV and slider leading to the patio and pool, of course it is where everyone is all the time. I have some basics that I love, like the sofa and horse painting. Chairs are all leftovers from previous homes and rooms, but they have functioned. I just need for something to really say me.
Here is the wicker chair that I just brought back in and touched up with a little stain. It looks really great here, but I am not totally thrilled with the louis chair as a mate for the other side of the TV.
Add in the fact that we have a couple of recliners on the other side of the sofa that I want to replace, (my budget says these chairs have to stay for now) this is not my favorite furniture grouping. I like parts, but not the whole room. So I am wondering if I can create something of interest with these new chairs that will bring the room together for a more cohesive style and look more like me.
Just adding one of my pillows makes them look more like me already.
Stay tuned, we will see where they end up.
HI Marty! Congratulations! That is a huge shift! I found that Etsy has great wordpress designers for WordPress/tech support for very little money. I would find myself banging my head on my table and finally found help thru Etsy.
I love the wicker chair. laura in Co
Marty! Bless you, friend! Your new site looks great.
Imparting Grace is still on Blogger, and we’ll see how long I can stay there. But I’m starting a new site on WordPress–I have to have an “author” site since my book is coming out in October. Part of me wishes I’d moved to WordPress years ago so that I would know how to use the platform. . . SO MUCH to learn! I’m sure you’ll rock this new platform. 🙂
I have had one for years and mine is a light grayish tone. How did you stain it?
I had some walnut stain that I touched up some worn spots with. That was all I did. Marty
I think I have enough of a sneak peek to know it’s landed! It’s gonna look great! And maybe the other one is on the other side of the room?
Hi Marty!
Love that wicker chair!
Glad you are happy with wp – that’s a huge change – but i hear it’s good for the very busy bloggers – who post daily and who advertise. I admire your willingness for change. It’s difficult I hear – but I know folks who made the change are great at helping. I wish you the best – and good luck- always.
Hope you are enjoying that awesome pool in early mornings and dusk – when it’s safe to come out and not be bombarded with that sun! Hugs!
Your new blog design looks great Marty! I think you’ll be happy you made the move to WP once you settle in!
Welcome to WordPress! The blog looks great 🙂 I was reluctant to change – I really loved the ease of Blogger, but many fellow bloggers pushed me to it saying it is the better move for SEO and has more opportunities. I am a slow technology learner, and still learning – the blocks still throw me for a loop sometimes. Wish I had some advice to give, but really all I can say is be patient with it.
Thanks so much, I am really trying to learn, it is confusing right now, but I am sure I will figure it out sooner or later. haha. Marty
Love the chair and the new blog look. Thanks for sharing at TFT!
