How to add Modern Farmhouse Style to your kitchen.  Here are a few tips and ideas to inspire you. I love the mix of modern and farmhouse and at first it seemed intimidating, then the light bulb went on and the whole design & style came to light.  It isn’t anything fancy, it’s just adding a few farmhouse accessories to your modern decor.  How simple is that.

I’ve done just that with our kitchen.  When we remodeled the kitchen 2 years ago, it was the first thing on our to-do list.  It was in really sad shape, so we started on the makeover a week after we moved in.  I love how it turned out.  Modern, Classic and Timeless.  We chose elements that would work well and function for us and still have a modern updated timeless look for years to come.

Adding a few classic and timeless “Farmhouse” accessories is icing on the cake in this kitchen.

The back of our home is devoted entirely to the family room, kitchen and breakfast area.  So having a casual, inviting style is perfect.  Modern Farmhouse is just that.

I like to keep my decor simple and mostly functional.  A Tray with everyday cooking essentials and a couple of cutting boards.  My little drunk chef and a lemon bouquet are fun accessories that make me smile.

A couple of my favorite farm cows and a small plant for the island.

Our farmhouse table and chairs in the breakfast area is where we eat most of our meals.

Rustic accessories and a modern version of a “crazy quilt” table runner create the Modern Farmhouse style that I love.

The family room on the other side of the kitchen continues the casual farmhouse feel with my favorite horse painting and cowhide rug.

This is where we live, entertain family and friends and create memories.
