Guest Bedroom Winter Refresh

I have tried several different bedding ensembles in this room and the one that I have been using just seems to be the very best. I am not really fond of the brown tweed carpet the previous owners added new to upstairs before they sold to us, but it is really nice carpet and pad, so I try to work with it. I have a brown quilt that I have used in the past and it is ok, just nothing really special, so I usually just keep the same thing going that I already have. Well, that has been the name of the game for the last year, time for a Guest Bedroom Winter Refresh.

The brown quilt is really nice, so I bought some brown pillowcases and got to work looking through my stash to see how I could give this room a whole new look. I think I found a great combination that totally changes the look in this room.

Love this color combination.  Orange is always a favorite and perfect to spice up a room for winter.  I really like this.

The headboard was a super fun find at Hotel Liquidators for only $29.50.  You can see how I stained and reupholstered it here

This orange and brown throw is such a bright happy piece, add in one pretty orange velvet pillow and the colors pop.  Nothing boring about this combination.  I added a second plaid scarf to the end table basket just for fun.  My straw hat got a new orange ribbon too.

This brown louis style chair has been floating around for years, it was in the family room for ages.  Now I think it works well in here for a change.  I had a lumbar straw pillow that adds to the straw in my hat.

The drapes are a pretty sheer pattern that I found at Tuesday Morning a couple years ago.  They add a bit more texture to the space.

The dresser at the foot of the bed got a pretty orange bouquet and a pretty gold box for decor. Another chair has been added to this corner for extra seating or to hold a suitcase.

In case you forgot, this is the bedding ensemble I have been using for the past year.  All I did at Christmas was add a wreath and a couple of small decor items.  I love this bedding combination, but the new orange is just as pretty and refreshing.

I think this new bedding combination is a winner – so happy I decided to change things up for a fun Guest Bedroom Winter Refresh.

So what do you think?  I think it is bright and fun and perfect for winter.  I’ll probably go back to pink for summer, but for now, this is good.

I love the orange added. Where did you get the plaid throw on the bed?

Oh Boy Marty you hit it out of the park on this one. That bedding matches so great with your carpet in there. It actually makes the carpet look so pretty. Love the orange and Love that you always find just the right combinations on things.
    Beautiful.

I really love this for Fall AND Winter! One of my favorite combinations is pink and brown and I could see that for
Spring and maybe yellow for Summer. You have such a good eye and always inspire me to update my home, as well. I can’t wait to see your next brown combination. I’m sure it will be delightful!
