It seems that the warmer it gets, the more I like to pare down and lighten up. For spring I used bright sunshine yellow for my pillows and throw, then I kept the other accessories at a minimum. This is how I created my version of minimalist decor in the master.
When you enter our bedroom the first things on the left are a leather chair, my nightstand and of course the bed. Our bedroom is filled with things we’ve owned for years and we call “treasures”. This wonderful leather chair has lived in practically every room in our homes over the years. It fits beautifully in here in this house. It was an amazing find from a consignment shop for $100 years ago.
Sometimes I like for my nightstand to have pretty flowers or an eye-catching object, but now my thought is simple, so just a small dish and simple ivy are what feels right. The nightstand was a $12.99 Goodwill find that I refinished years ago and the lamp is so classic. It was also a Goodwill find from ages ago too.
I kept the bed really simple with mainly yellow and white.
A touch of turquoise on the one pillow and some turquoise beads on my hat. This room is furnished with nothing but thrifty finds. The headboard I found at Hotel Liquidators for $79.50 and painted the wood to have an old world weathered look.
The dresser was kept really simple too. It’s another thrifty find that I refinished.
I loved this pretty bead cross in turquoise, so that was the main focus on the dresser.
This feels clean, bright and restful for spring. Sometimes minimalist decor in the master just seems right.
How about you, do you like to pare down for Spring or do you go all out?

Looks so pretty and cozy Marty. Happy Wednesday.
Hugs,

I actually just did the same thing in my bedroom too…pared down some of the winter accessories. It looks so fresh and calming in here, Marty.
Marty — Nice and relaxing!! Again, you inspire to clean out, clean up and simplify in a calming, nice way! BTW — love that you have landline (like me too!). Thanks Marty!
I love this clean fresh look. I also like a minimalist look in the bedroom – too much clutter is not very restful for the spirit!
It looks very nice Marty. I don’t change out my bedroom for the seasons. It is how I like it and so I leave it. Although I do change the quilt. I have a couple of different ones, and I will change once in awhile. Thanks for sharing your changes.
I love a good treasure and you sure found one in that leather chair!!! Your bedroom does look restful and calming:) And beautiful too…
What a nice, comfy looking chair!
