From One End To The Other

Our home is not really large, so this makes it even harder to shoot an entire room.  We have long narrow spaces it seems. Our downstairs consists of only 2 spaces.  One is for the living/dining rooms and the other is the family/kitchen/breakfast rooms.   I love how open this makes our house and that you can also see the open loft area upstairs from the living/dining rooms.

I enjoy seeing all of your homes and so I thought I would try to show you the views from different angles in our home that you don’t usually see.

Living/Dining Rooms –  From the back of the house where the kitchen/family/breakfast area is looking into the living/dining rooms.   This is what you would see.

If you walk in a little further and stand at the bottom of the stairs, this is the view of the entire area.

Turn around and look from the side of the sofa by the big window and this would be your view.  You can see just a snippet of the open loft upstairs.  Through the archway you see the kitchen in the back of the house.  The living/dining rooms run north to south.

I love showing our family room and kitchen, but since they run east to west across the entire back of the house, it is impossible to get a picture of them all at one time.  So I took my camera and snapped a couple of pictures across the room in each direction.  If you are at the breakfast table, this is the view you have across the back of the house to the family room.  Our kitchen is in the middle and separates the breakfast area from the family room area.

Then if you walk around to the family room area and take a picture from the sofa to the breakfast area, this is the view you have.

This makes it hard to shoot an individual area, but I love how many different angles you can see in real life.

How about yours, does your home have different angles and views from one area to the other?

I love how your family room opens up to the kitchen. I have always wanted a open concept like that. You can cook and be part of the party all at the same time. Looks so pretty to see your house from different angles. Have a great day today.
    Hugs,
    Kris

Thanks Kris. I really do like our floor plan, just wish it was a little bigger when we have all the gang here, but otherwise it is good. Marty

Hi Marty, I love your home and especially loved your Praying Man, which I have not seen in a while. Did you move that painting to a different room? My grandmother had the same or very similar and each time I saw it hanging in your space, it reminded me of her.
    Stay cool and stay safe.

Oh I love that painting too. I have it hanging in the hallway upstairs. It the focal point of the landing when you walk up stairs. Marty

Your home is lovely. We moved to be near kids and grandkids into a rather generic condo. Trying slowly to make it more us. Painted the master bedroom. Changed out a light fixture. You probably have shared this previously but do you mind sharing the paint color of your living spaces?

So glad you are closer to family too. Our home is painted top to bottom with Swiss Coffee. I love this color, it can go really well with warm or cool tones. Marty

Oh! Neat idea, Marty! Maybe I will do this too in the future. Could be a fun linky party, ya know?

I like your floor plan a lot. Your home is perfect – plenty of room and not too much room! I would love to “go smaller,” but hubs isn’t quite on board with that idea at this point.

Just gotta say I really like that curbed china display cabinet. It’s a true beauty!

I am so glad you have some warm touches. I really think it looks great.

Thanks so much Michele, this house does really live bigger than it is since the spaces are all so open. It feels bigger because of the two story ceilings and the fact that you can see into the loft upstairs. Marty

Your place is always so light and bright, Marty. Looks fabulous.

Very interesting idea Marty! Your home is beautiful, as always. I also live in a small space and I know how hard can be to show the space in a right way. Anyone who is regular on my blog can see always the same parts of my home because of that, but maybe I can try and do the same, just for fun. Have a blessed day and stay safe.

It’s interesting to see it from different angels. Give it a try. Marty

Thank you for inviting me to visit you. I love this post and I love your home. I would try it but our little home has not got very many angles.

The open high ceilings make these spaces seem very inviting. You have done a lovely job with your home. We definitely need to downsize and this seems perfect to me. Would you mind my asking how many square feet is your home for my future home shopping? Thankyou.

P.S. Never mind on the footage, I went back and read the article about buying this home. I am even more impressed and inspired…You have taken a very basic design and made it so very nice.

Thanks you so much, that is such a wonderful compliment. Marty
