Inviting Summer Bedroom – Master Bdrm.

I love it when several of my favorite people get together to share some of their beautiful decor.  Today starts off the Inviting Summer Bedroom Tours.

I am thrilled to be starting things off with our Master Bedroom.  Not much has changed in here got a long time.  With our new “stay at home” lifestyle, I find that my home needs a few changes so it isn’t just the same-o same-o all the time.  There really isn’t much I can change in here, so I tried to change what I could, – the pillows – decor and a new bed skirt.  That doesn’t sound like much, but it did make a big difference in how the room looks.  I love the changes and hope you do too.

Let’s take a look at what the room looked like for my 2020 Summer Home Tour.

I’ve had this bed skirt for a few years now. It kind of coordinates with the headboard fabric so I’ve kept it all this time.  But I think it’s time for a change.   Maybe something lighter.  A crisp fresh white to go with the white quilt.

Doesn’t seem like a simple bed skirt would change so much, but this did.  I love it when a room can take on new looks with just a few changes.  I love soft camel colors and some new pillows with tons of texture add interest to the soft color.

The rafia pillows add summer fun and a different kind of texture.  (You can see the detail of the headboard in this shot also.  Check back next week for the tutorial on how I painted the headboard.)

I’ve kept all the other accessories in the room very simple.  I think less is more for Summer.

A simple green bouquet on the nightstand looks fresh next to the brass lamp.

So what do you think?  Should I keep the white bed skirt or go back to the dark one?

There are two more fabulous bedrooms on today’s tours.  Be sure to check them both out.

Amy @ 11 Magnolia Lane.  Amy has a new home that she has been busy fluffing.  You are going to love her beautiful and chic bedroom.

Remodelando La Casa – Cristina is the queen of DIY.  Wait until you see the feature wall she created for her bedroom.

Be sure to check out the list of homes on the tour all week long with the links below.  You don’t want to miss a single home, these ladies are all amazing and their decor is amazing too.

Marty–what a difference the white bedskirt makes. That is a great tip! Thank you for coordinating all the tours, I love seeing how everyone makes their homes feel like summer, so many beautiful spaces. XO

Keep the white but don’t get rid of the dark. I know that in a year or so I would be looking for a change and that might come in handy. Love the throw at the foot of the bed, it also gives a lighter feel for summer. Where did you find it? Beautiful changes we all need right now.

Thanks so much. Yes, I am keeping the dark one, I might change it out one day. The throw is one I found at Home Good, I really love the color and plaid. Marty

Perhaps a new light summery color top on the bed would bring a fun, fresh pop of color. The white bed skirt Is an excellent summer anchor for a topper. Flowers or seasonal art or an accessory, a lamp shade, vase, etc. could be in the same summer color of the bed topper, also.

    Happy Summertime and happy touring!

    Hi Marty,
Love how your bedroom looks………..I like the look of the camel color and it can also take you right into Fall, which is not too far off.
It is amazing how subtle changes can make a big difference……and especially in our own homes where we see it all the time. Hope this finds you doing well hon.
    Blessings,
    Nellie

The changes look perfect for summer and the colors you chose will work well into August. I say you should use the old Labor Day fashion rule and keep the white from now through Labor Day, but pack away the white afterward and switch back to something different for the fall and winter months.

Your bedroom looks so cool and relaxing! In the middle of the night last night a tree fell in our neighborhood and 46 homes were without power for several hours. I can tell you it was HOT upstairs in this 99 year-old house and I didn’t sleep much. Your bedroom is making me want to curl up for a nice cool, summer nap!

Thanks for hosting this fun tour!

Oh my word, our air went out a couple weeks ago and we had to wait until the next day for the repairman so I know what you mean. Thanks goodness things are fixed now for both of us. Marty

Marty, that’s incredible, how a simple bed skirt can bring so much change! Both bed skirts are pretty, you can switch them from time to time. Thanks so much for being such an awesome host! ❤️
