With the upcoming 2020 Fall Home Tour – Sept 14th thru 18th, I have been trying to put together the living room with a pretty fall look. Family room changes for fall were easy with just a few accessories and pillow changes. This room just seems to do well with touches of leather.
I love the way mixing suede, leather, raffia, and plants all create tons of texture. The light in this room is wonderful too, always a happy space.
The horse painting and my cowhide rug are my favorites, so adding more leather for a masculine look is one I like.
I like the raffia pillow for added texture too.
My favorite leather side chair – love this piece. The rustic wood on the console ties into the room well too.
This will work for now. Nice simple family room changes for fall. This is the room I spend the most time in, so I love having something different and fresh to look at.

You all have asked how I’m doing? Well, one day at a time. I am trying to create a routine of some kind that keeps me and the house put together. Everything seems so awkward and strange. I have good days and bad days, but most are a mix of both. Walking this new path is so much harder than I ever thought. All you ladies that have walked this way before me are amazing, I can’t thank you enough for your encouragement and positive insight. I know I will get there too. Thanks to all who email me and send me support and encouragement daily, you all keep me going. Love you all, Marty
Marty, Have not met you, but as a Master Gardener and a West Valley MG , I met Jim a couple of years ago. You had an amazing husband who had time for every question and I will always remember him fondly! I think of you often. Keep those memories of Jum close to your heart. We MG’s miss him so much!
God Bless!
Marsha
Thank you, he loved being a MG and loved talking plants.

Your room looks perfect and I especially love your horse picture. I have never saw one like it before. Homey and comfortable are the words I feel describe your room. You have a special knack for decor with the change of each seasons. I follow your blog from Ontario, Canada. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
You always make your home look so inviting and comfortable. Glad to see you posting again and know you
have many who care about you. Hugs from WI!
Your living room is beautiful and so inviting. I love all of the texture!!!
So glad you are back;)
Take care.
Looks very cozy and inviting; not overwhelming orange leaves and pumpkins (that some of us are guilty of)
It’s that awesome stash of pillow covers as a standby.
So glad to see your blog pop up. Hope you are feeling better. You are in our prayers.
Absolutely beautiful Marty! Love the stallion. Thinking of you and sending prayers to you and your family.
Love the room…so cozy. Praying for you …
You are in my thoughts often, Marty. I too, have walked this path. It’s not easy, but staying busy helps. Take care of yourself.
Your leather pillows add such a nice warm touch to the room. Love what you have done. I take one day at a time…I lost my precious Mom nine months ago and it’s still hard some days as I was her caregiver. Grief is different for everyone and we all cope in different ways. Hope you do the things that will bring you comfort and be sure to care for yourself! Will continue to keep you in prayer.
I’m pleased to see my favourite blogger is up and running again. One day, one hour, one minute at a time adjusting to life without your soulmate will be a roller coaster of a ride. But you will get there. A big virtual hug from London UK
This room is so lovely! I love that it is unique! If you have time I would love if you would link up with us! https://theeverydayfarmhouse.com/embracing-home-and-family-link-party-7/
Your room looks lovely, Marty!
I know you are an amazing and strong woman…one day at-at-time is the only way to get through this sorrow. My younger sister is walking this same path, and day can hold laughter or tears and sometimes both. You are in my prayers every day, just as my sister is.
So sorry your sister is walking this path also. It is so hard and nothing any of us ever want to go down. I will keep her in prayer also. Thank you for your comforting thoughts and prayers.
GORGEOUS! I love everything about this room!
I have been enjoying your blog for some time now and am always inspired by your ideas. I am filled with sorrow about the loss of your husband and am keeping you in my prayers!
Marty, I just love your style! Thank you for linkin up at Embracing Home and Family! I see from a previous comment that you lost your husband. I don’t know you, but I know that you must be hurting, and I will be praying for peace for you!
Marty, your house looks lovely as always. I love the way you made just a few changes to freshen the space for Fall; thank you for sharing those.
You are on my mind so often. I am so very sorry you’re having to walk this road of grief and sorrow. May God give you so much grace as you learn to live without your beloved by your side.
Thanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace. I’m featuring you this week!
