A THANKSGIVING DAY PRAYER
Lord, so often times, as any other day
When we sit down to our meal and pray
We hurry along and make fast the blessing
Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing
We’re slaves to the olfactory overload
We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold
But Lord, I’d like to take a few minutes more
To really give thanks to what I’m thankful for
For my family, my health, a nice soft bed
My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head
I’m thankful right now to be surrounded by those
Whose lives touch me more than they’ll ever possibly know
Thankful Lord, that You’ve blessed me beyond measure
Thankful that in my heart lives life’s greatest treasure
That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place
And I’m ever so grateful for Your unending grace
So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You’ve provided
And bless each and every person today.
Amen!

I wish you and all your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.
This is our first Holiday without Jim. We all miss him so much, however today I am counting my blessing. We have so many beautiful memories of a remarkable husband, father, and papa. He is with us today in our hearts. I am also counting my blessings for all of you. Your uplifting emails and prayers are what has carried me through these last couple of months. Thank You with all my heart.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
God Bless you,Marty. I feel that you have also blessed so many in your heartfelt writings.

What a beautiful prayer. May your day be blessed remembering your dear Jim.
Hi Marty,
You have such a warm and kind heart.
I just copied the Thanksgiving Prayer and will recite later today when we sit down to our meal.
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving and all the best to your family as you all adjust to your lives without Jim.
How lucky you were to choose such a good partner and dad and Papa for your family
Best wishes,
C
May you have a blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving with your family and your many fond memories.
May God bless you and help you find peace during this difficult time for you. You are truly a blessing to those of us who have decided to stay safe and at home this Thanksgiving. Your posts are always inspiring and bring a bit of joy to my day. I love your sense of style. Your home is always, lovely, warm and welcoming.
Happy Thanksgiving Marty and family..you are in my prayers..
Happy Thanksgiving Marty! May you feel the presence of Jim’s grace today.
Thank you so much for the beautiful prayer and for your kind message to us.
In between our sad sentiments at this time, God always sends us something to be happy and thankful for.
Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving with so much wonderful memories of your dear Jim, along with your family.

Thank you for this prayer and all that it expresses. It can feel very lonely on holidays when loved ones are not there, but you remind us that we have many many blessings, many good memories, and many other relationships that are very dear.
Right back same to you, Marty. We do indeed have much to be thankful for.
Hope your day was peaceful.
Hugs.
Marty, thinking about you today, praying you’ve had a blessed day with family. I know you are especially missing Jim during this Thanksgiving. God bless you.
Happy Thanksgiving, Marty! I enjoy reading your blog and looking at photos of your home so graciously decorated. It looks like a beautiful and peaceful place, and I wish you continued healing and happiness in the months ahead!
What a beautiful grace. We never know “when the last time will be the last time.” We are not guaranteed anything.
Perhaps it was God’s plan all along for you to move closer to family. You are always in our prayers all across the country.
May you have peace.
I didn’t get a chance to comment yesterday but you were in my thoughts, Marty. So glad you had a nice Thanksgiving Day with family … the first holiday spent without your dear Jim. Wishing you continued peace and comfort!
Such a lovely post Marty…..You have a great attitude even in your time of grieving. I am thankful that I have come to know you through blogging and that you have been a great blessing to me. You are in my prayers every time I pray for others at our church
who have lost loved ones this year, and that’s almost daily. So happy to hear you had your family surrounding you this year for
Thanksgiving, and yes, your Jim is with you in spirit and the great memories you have of him.
Bless you sweet lady,
Nellie
