I am thrilled to be joining Amy & Christy @ ll Magnolia Lane & Jenny @ Evolution of Style for the 2020 Holiday Home Entry. Each day this week there will be a different room and 6 fabulous ladies sharing their Christmas Home Decor.
Tuesday is all about Entries and Dining Rooms. If you are coming over from Home by Heidi, welcome. Her home is always a place to inspire you with her talent and design. I am as excited as you are to follow along all week to see what everyone has to share.
I am sharing my Entry today. Now we don’t really have an actual formal entry, but I love being able to create one right inside the door.
The console and chair have been all over the house. Most recently in the family room. My huge painting is perfect with the console. I think it fits this space best of all, so they are here to stay. Since this is a two story wall, I needed something with a little height and the 2 x 3 foot painting and taller console work to give me the height I need.
Art can be hard and finding something with the right colors is sometimes even harder. I loved this piece except for a couple of blue splashes the artist added. So I got out my craft supplies and painted over them. Now I love this piece. You can check out my DIY Art post here.
An assortment of gold trees and reindeer create an elegant Christmas vignette on top of the console.
This is my favorite view as you open the door. You can see the entry console on the left and the stairs and dining area straight ahead. I like how this space all flows together with entry, dining and living.
Looking back toward the front door, here is a sneak peek at the living area.
Be sure to come back on Thursday to see my 2020 Home Tour Kitchen
Next up on the tour is Rachael @ This Is Our Bliss. I can’t wait to see what she has done this year. Love her style. Then be sure to check out everyone on today’s tour. I know you will enjoy each home and come back all week to see more 2020 Holiday Home Tours.

It looks so festive, Marty! I don’t think I’ve ever noticed that piece of art before but it is perfect for the space (and I love your story about how you fixed it so it would be just right for you). I’m looking forward to seeing more next week. Thanks so much for touring with us again! XO, Christy
Hi Marty. Your home is so bright and cheerful and love how you hung the garland on the stairs. It is so pretty. I know this year is a first since Jim passed and know it will be hard. So glad to see you are trying to make some cheer in your home this year for the holidays. Big hugs.
YOUR HOME IS ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL! I WAS SO SORRY TO LEARN OF THE PASSING OF YOUR HUSBAND. IT’S HARD, VERY HARD AND FIRSTS OF EVERYTHING IS REALLY SORROWFUL. MY PRAYERS GO WITH YOU DURING THIS SAD TIME.
Your home looks lovely!! I love the garland going up the staircase…such a statement. I look forward to the rest!!!!!!!11
Hi Marty
Love the gorgeous vignette you created on your entry table, and the art ! So pretty and festive!
What a lovely open area, Marty! I love that you customized the artwork by painting over the color with one that suits your space. So clever! Your home is so inviting and festively elegant.
Hi Marty,
I always love your home at Christmas. Your tree and the wreath on the mirror in the living room are fabulous. I hope you have a joyful holiday with your children and grandchildren. My family especially my granddaughters have kept me grounded during this challenging year. I am so grateful you are still blogging. So many of my favorites have dropped away from this platform and moved onto other forms of social media. You are a wonderful inspiration to me.
Fondly
Betty
Marty, I love the view from your front door so much. Must be nice to come home to.
Merry Christmas!
