Advent – Sacred Christmas Blog Hop

Today I am joining a group of ladies to share my Sacred Christmas vignette, hosted by Amber @ Follow The Yellow Brick Home.  Amber’s home is so beautiful and I always look forward to it when she shares something special with us.

I love to use my Nativity as the centerpiece of my Christmas Table.   I have done several versions of this, but this one is one of my favorites.  I placed Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus under a cloche.  I hung a star over the cloche to represent the Heavenly star that announced Jesus’ birth.  The cloche is surrounded by a shepherd, cow, reindeer, and an angel.  All came to see the newborn King.

I used gold chargers, white dishes, and my prettiest stems to create the table setting.  I tried to keep the setting simple.  I wanted the Nativity to be the main focus.  This is one of my favorites vignettes.  This takes maybe 5 minutes, but the story it tells is timeless.

Next up be sure to check out Debra @ Common Ground.  I know you will love seeing her special post.

What a beautiful vignette Miss Marty! We ended up making a quick trip to Florida (where Eric’s father lives) but I plan on calling you in the quiet days after Christmas. I will text first to see if it is a good time. May you find love in comfort from your family in what I am sure will be a difficult Christmas without your beloved Jim. He is smiling down upon you of that I am sure dear friend.

Lovely and oh so important to honor the true reason for this season, this year, perhaps, n=more than ever. At first glance I thought the start you hung was a cross and thought it was so telling since the Savior was born in order to die as our substitute. it was like the entire of His Story was told in that cloche’. thank you for sweet thoughts. May God bless you abundantly this week and put hopes of eternity into your heart in this year of great loss and grief.

So beautiful Marty. I love how you’ve used your nativity inside the cloche, and the way you’ve added the gold cross. I’m praying you’ll have a blessed and peaceful Christmas!

I really love the idea of decorating the dining table with a nativity. What an amazing reminder to reflect upon as a family while dining. Marty, you are in my continued thoughts and prayers. Love you, friend!
